Preview lecture: Strolling through Paris with the Flâneur: A 19th-Century Perspective

Therese Dolan, professor of art history at Temple University, explores the phenomenon of the flâneur in nineteenth-century French art and culture. Typically a bourgeois gentleman of leisure, the flâneur strolled the urban landscape, immersing himself in the modern crowd.
